Here's another great tip for re-using those empty Stampin' Up! containers when all your embellishments are used up.
The containers Stampin' Up! uses for all of their embellishments are great little treasures. With recycling on everyone's mind here's two ideas for the empty containers. One is featured today and another will follow on Monday.
First is this terrific idea to store your ribbon, linen thread or even better yet, Stampin' Up!'s new Bakers Twine in.
All you need to do is, peel off the Stampin' Up! labels, stamp an image on card stock. Color, or not, the image and punch it out with the 2-3/8" Scallop Circle Punch. Adhere the Scallop Circle to the lid with Sticky Tape.
With the container opened and the Crop-A-Dile, punch the largest circle out of the side of the container. Place a Jumbo Eyelet into the holes and fasten it with the Crop-A-Dile.
You're done and have a useful & recycled Twine holder container!
Click on product name to order the Stampin' Up! JUMBO EYELETS and CROP-A-DILE.
Toodles for now!

MEG'S 1st Birthday Card for RYAN:
Meg chose Tempting Turquoise Card Stock and Designer Series Paper from a Hostess Paper Pack. The octopus is from Stampin' Up! Look Who's Turning Stamp Set stamped in Brilliant Blue Ink. He, as well as the waves, were hand cut and layered over the DSP. With a Marker she added the bubbles. Adorable!
My 1st Birthday Card for RYAN:
For my card I chose Only Orange and Whisper White Card Stock. From the Bugs & Kisses Stamp Set I stamped the grasshopper in Tempting Turquoise and the ants in Basic Black Ink. I took a piece of Green Galore Card Stock and cut it to resemble grass. I stamped the number "1" from the Big Numbers Stamp Set in So Saffron, enlarged it on my printer and cut it out. Party Hats in both cards are from the Look Who's Turning Stamp Set.
Hoping you enjoyed your visit and as ever thank you for stopping by!
Stampin' Hugs,
I had these heart shaped puzzles and actually gave them away as dinner favors last year. These were "So Simple" to make. I used the chef from the Voila Stamp Set (113756), stamped him in Basic Black Ink (101179) and masked him by stamping him on a piece of white printer paper, cutting him out and with my dotto I adhered the mask over my original stamped image (See masking under Techniques). Then I stamped the background with hearts from the Love You Much Stamp Set (113756) in Real Red Ink (103133). On the chef's tray I stamped the hearts from the Loads of Love Stamp Set (115022) in Pink Passion (101212) and glittered them with Dazzling Diamonds (102203). Using my Crop-A-Dile (108362) I punched a hole at the top of the heart for the Real Red Grosgrain Ribbon (109034) hanger.
Here's the result, cute and uncomplicated!
HUGS & stamps,
My inspiration for this "Punch Happy Penguin" came from the Stampin' Up! Punch Pals Stamp Set. Punch projects are "Just for Kids" friendly.
RECIPE: Merry & Bright
Season of Friendship
Heritage Holiday
INK: Verse Mark
Tempting Turquoise
Real Red
PAPER: Real Red Card Stock (5-1/2" x 8-1/2" scored at 4-1/4")
Whisper White Card Stock (5" x 1-1/2" torn to resemble snow)
Bashful Blue Card Stock (5" x 3-3/4")
Garden Green Card Stock scraps
BODY 1 Real Red 1-3/8" Circle Punch
1 Whisper White Luggage Tag Punch
ARMS: 1 Garden Green 5-Petal Flower Punch
FEET: 2 Garden Green Heart-to-Heart Punch small heart
CHEST: 1 Garden Green Heart-to-Heart Punch tallest heart
HAT: 1 Garden Green Heart-to-Heart Punch wide heart
BEAK: 1 Whisper White Large Star Punch one point
FACE: 1 Real Red Heart-to-Heart Punch wide heart
For the face of the penguin I cut the wide medium heart in half and overlapped and glued it so it would fit.
For his eyes I punched the Eyelet Border Punch on Basic Black Card Stock and used the dots. You could use a marker.
The hat was made from a wide medium heart from the Heart-to-Heart Punch. I simply folded the top of the heart up and added a pom-pom to the tip.
On the Bashful Blue Card Stock I stamped in Versa Mark the snowflake from the Stampin' Up! Season of Friendship Stamp Set and embossed it with White Embossing Powder.
"Warm Wishes" from the Heritage Holiday Stamp Set was stamped in Real Red Ink, punched out with a Small Oval Punch, and layered onto a Real Red Scallop Oval.
Lakeside Stamper Tip: For the scarf I used that all too familiar red and white stripped string used at every bakery shop. So from now on, save that string we love so much!
Lakeside Stamper Tip: The penguin can be used as an ornament simply by adhering it with Glue Dots and adding a loop. This way you can carefully peel him off and use on your tree.
Normally I would sponge the edges of each punched piece of card stock with inks and sponge daubers but, in this class we had eleven projects to make and it would have taken too long.
Wishing you "Punch Happy" days!
HUGS & stamps,
This pencil box template is not mine but the design is. the template and measurement handout will be available at my next workshop on Friday, October 23. These can also be filled with Pixie Stixs.
Below are crayon boxes I design by reconfiguring the measurements of the pencil box to fit crayons. These would make really great favors, Halloween hand outs, birthday, Valentine's Day or Easter gifts.
For those little four crayon boxes the measurements are as follows:
Cut a 2-1/4" x 6" piece of Card Stock. You get ten of these per 12" x 12" sheet of car d stock.
Score at 3/8" up the long sides.
Score up the 2-1/4" side at 1-1/2", 1-7/8" and 3-3/4".
I didn't make a sample of this box.
Here is a picture and directions for an six crayon box:
I cut a 3" x 6" piece of Melon Mambo Card Stock. If you use a 12" x 12" piece you will get 8 per sheet.
I then scored up the long sides at 3/8" and along the 3" side at 1-/1/2", 1-7/8" and 3-3/4".
I stamped in Melon Mambo Ink the little quail/bird from the Happy Together Stamp Set on Whisper white Card Stock.
Using my 1" Circle Punch I punched out the bird image. I punched other circles using the 1-1/4" Circle Punch on Melon Mambo Card Stock and 1-3/8" Circle Punch on Whisper White Card Stock. On Bermuda Bay Card Stock I punched a Scallop Circle.
I layered all the punched circles onto the scallop circle. I finished by wrapping a piece of Bermuda Bay Polka Dot Grosgrain Ribbon and adhering the layered scallop circle on top of the ribbon.
Here is a picture and directions to the eight crayon box:
For this eight crayon box I cut a 3-1/2" x 6" piece of Pretty in Pink Card Stock.
Again I scored up the 6" sides at 3/8" and along the 3-1/2" side at 1-1/2", 1-7/8" and 3-3/4".
I stamped birthday bliss in Basic Black Ink from the Birthday Bliss Stamp Set and punched it out with the Designer Label Punch. Behind it I punched out a Scallop Circle in Melon Mambo Card Stock. I wrapped a piece of Green Galore Card Stock around the bottom of the box and on top of that I wrapped a piece of Melon Mambo Polka Dot Grosgrain Ribbon. I adhered the birthday bliss greeting on the scalloped circle and placed a Green Galore Brad on the top.
Here are the crayon box templates. I'm sorry this is a little light but if you click on the image it will enlarge the template. I will hand out dark copies at my workshop. For those of you who do not live local and would like a copy just e-mailme.
Again thanks for stopping by and keep visiting as I have much to post.
HUGS & Stamps,
Here is the bookmarks I made for the Sweet Treat Cup Halloween card. I made lots for my daughter to pass out o Halloween. These are very easy and fast and any design, theme or holiday can be incorporated. I will be posting different ones soon. These make great party favors also.
This is one bookmark I made specifically for the halloween Sweet Centers card. I stamped the "Little Boo" ghost, punched him out and adhered him so that after the candy was removed, he would show up in the middle of the Clear Sweet Centers Cup.
For this book mark I used the Scallop Circle Punch and adhered Snail Adhesive to only the sides so a lollipop could be inserted. I made these for my daughter Meg to hand out where she works for trick-or-treaters. After the lollipop is long gone they still have the bookmark to use.
Look for more bookmark designs in the future.
Thanks for visiting..
