Welcome Back Stampers & Paper-Crafters!
Today's project comes just in time for your Spring gardening. These flower pots would love great on a deck, in a kitchen with herbs or in any other room with any kind of plant. These are great for gift giving as well. They would be wonderful as a Mother's Day gift, which was my intention for you. I'm involved with so many projects this post is getting out later then I hoped it would. Maybe there's still time for you to work on this today??
I believe the class loved making these for two reasons; one is they didn't have to cut too accurately and second the results are pretty amazing. Another indicator, the class liked these, is they were super quiet when they were creating these masterpieces.
To begin this project you'll need to have a terra -cotta flower pot.
With a sponge applicator, paint the flower pot with white acrylic paint.
Tn a piece of white tissue paper, stamp the flower base from the Fast & Fabulous Stamp Set in each of the following colors, Regal Rose, Baja Breeze and Perfect Plum. Stamp as many flowers that you need to go around the flower pot.
Then, in Chocolate Chip Ink, stamp the outline large flower on each flower center.
Once the ink has dried, roughly cut out each flower. It doesn't have to be exact, because once you decoupage the flower down, the tissue paper edges disappear. Using a decoupage medium as a glue, sponge some on the pot, and with your finger press a flower over the decoupage medium. I love using my fingers, because I love peeling off the decoupage from my fingers! Then apply a coat of decoupage over the flower. Repeat this step moving around the flower pot, one flower at a time.
For the flower pot rim, I cut the long flower image to make shorter pieces and applied them in the same manner .
I loved using the Fast & Fabulous Stamp Set, because I wanted to achieve a water-color look. You can take this technique and use it with any stamp set. These would also make great teacher's gifts. In the new Summer Mini Catalog, check out the Elementary Alphabet, For Teacher and School Colors Stampin' Wheels on page 19. How cute would these be for your child's favorite teacher?
If you want to place an order, I would love to be your demonstrator!
Thanks for stopping by and spending some time with me.
Stampin' Hugs,
The Stampin' Up! Fast & Fabulous Stamp Set is a Two-Step Stampin' Set. Here's how to do the "Two-Step!" Not the dance of course.
Create a single, multicolored image with Two-Step Stampin'--simply layer one image over another for fast and easy stamping with amazing results. The Two-Step Stampin' logo marks these sets in the catalog.
Step 1: Stamp the base image in a light color.
Step 2: Stamp the outline image in a darker color.
Welcome Back Stampers and Paper-Crafters!
As you know I'm sewing cushions for my daughter and I'm happy to announce I only have one more to go. Woo-Hoo! I promise to photograph them for you to see.
I'm posting a project we made in my Friday night's class. This is a "So Simple" project and is perfect for Mother's Day, Father's Day, end of the year teacher's gift, and it would even make a great wedding or baby shower favor.
Here are the directions for this project:
Cut Blushing Bride Card Stock to 6-1/4" x 4-3/4"
Cut Basic Grey Card Stock to 9-1/4" x 4-3/4" and score it along the 9-1/4" at 1" and 2"
On the Blushing Bride Card Stock I stamped the harlequin pattern with the Print Pattern Block Stamp in Blushing Bride Ink. I love using the same color Ink on the same color card stock when I want to add a little dimension to my card stock. You could use Designer Series Paper as well, but sometimes the DSP pops too much.
Line up your stamped Blushing Bride Card Stock on the first score line and adhere it.
Cut two Top Note shapes with your Big Shot. Cut one in Basic Black and the other in Very Vanilla. Trim down the Very Vanilla Top Note along the perforated edge.
On the Very Vanilla stamp the large floral bouquet and the "Life is a matter of Moments" saying, in Basic Black Ink. I left mine black and white, but you can certainly color in the bouquet.
Along the spine of the Brag Book, wrap a piece of the Blushing Bride Stitched-Poly Ribbon. Take five Clear Envelopes and stick them to each other. The bottom one adhere to the bottom inside cover pushing it right up to the fold. Holding the Brag Book closed and using the Crop-A-Dile, punch two hole right through the ribbon and all of the Brag Book's layers, including the envelopes. Place two Very Vanilla Brads from the Hodgepodge Hardware Kit through the punched hole to hold everything in place.
On the two right corners of the cover punch two Photo Corners out of Basic Black Card Stock and adhere.
When stamping with a big block stamp, ink it and place the inked image side up. Place your card stock over the image and with your finger or bone folder rub across the inked stamp. Gently pull up the card stock. Stamping this way gives you an even coverage and it's easy to center the image.
Thanks once again for stopping by.
Stampin' Hugs,
Welcome Stampers & Paper-Artists!
As I write this it is snowing once again. Grrrr. Here is a card you can make for so many occasions. It would make a wonderful wedding, Mother's Day or birthday card. Everything about this card screams feminine from the embossing to the dimensional flowers which make up the topiary.
All products are Stampin' Up! and the adhesive I use is Snail Adhesive. To make this card:
Cut all of the following sizes out of Blushing Bride Card Stock.
A 5-1/2'x 8-1/2" piece and score it at 4-1/4" .
A 5" x 3-3/4"piece and emboss this piece with the Big Shot and the Petals A Plenty Embossing Folder.
A 3-3/4" x 2-3/4" piece.
Cut two 3-1/2" x 2-1/2" pieces and emboss one with the Big Shot and the Petals A Plenty Embossing Folder.
Cut a 3" x 4" piece out of Very Vanilla Card Stock.
On the 3-1/2" x 2-1/2" piece of Blushing Bride which wasn't embossed, stamp the leaf image from the Sweet Summer Stamp Set in Old Olive Ink. Hand color the leaves in with Markers or Water-Color Pencils.
Along the bottom of the card stock, turn the leaf stamp up-side down and stamp the stem as grass.
For the topiary top punch flowers out of Very Vanilla and Blushing Bride with the Trio Punch. With Tombow Multi-Purpose Glue adhere the flowers to a 1-1/4" inch punched out circle. The class did not like this part at all! No patience. But we had a good laugh over it and in the end they came out beautiful.
In the center of each flower place a Basic Rhinestone. Adhere this piece of Blushing Bride onto the Very Vanilla before you place the topiary on the leaf stem.
Form the pocket by layering, as shown in the photograph, making sure you only place adhesive along three edges of the pocket, so, that the top of the pocket remains open for the topiary card to slide into.
Wrap a piece of Very Vanilla Satin Ribbon around the pocket and with a separate piece of ribbon make a flat loop bow by looping one side then the other. Place a Glue Dot or adhesive in the middle of the bow for each loop. When finished with the loops, adhere onto the piece of Satin Ribbon and place a Basic Rhinestone to either side of the bow. Don't forget to tuck the topiary inside the pocket. I left this card blank without a message, but of course you can place any message you might need for your particular celebration.
Anyone would love to receive this masterpiece of a card.
See you next time!
Stampin' Hugs,
Who doesn't like a little blue box? While this one isn't from Tiffany's, it's just as nice to fill with a present, gift card or goodies as we did in class. The lattice work pops off the box nicely and what can I say about the gorgeous ribbon except it's beautiful and makes the perfect bow.
I traced a box template, which can be found on the internet, onto Bashful Blue Card Stock and cut it out.
Using my Big Shot I cut 3 of the Lattice Bigz Die. Two of the lattice dies I cut in half for the sides of the box. I adhered them as shown. The last full lattice was placed on the lid of the box. The lattice hung over the edges so they were trimmed with Paper Snipes.
Before putting the box together I placed a Pretty-in-Pink Brad in the center of each side of the box and one in the center of the lid.
For the lid I made a tag from the Metal Edge Tags and the wonderful and fun Sweet Pea Stitched Felt.
In the inside of the box I added pink Easter grass and candy.
These boxes can be made in any color and used for so many occasions as favors or really nice wrapping for that special gift.
I hope I have inspired you to try some of your own. Forward me your designs and I'll post them on my blog. The only stipulation is that you use all Stampin' Up! products as this is an all Stampin' Up! blog.
Thanks for visiting!

For May of course I did May Flowers. Again I ripped some scraps of DSP to make dirt and grass. I think ripped paper adds a certain dimension.
RECIPE:
Stamp Sets: Bloomin' with Love
Dear Friend
Ink: Basic Black
Paper: Whisper White (8-1/2" x 8-1/2") and ( 7" x 2-1/4")
Almost Amethyst ( 8" x 8")
So Saffron scraps for photo corners
Chocolate Chip and Certainly Celery DSP scraps
Accessories: Brads, Water-Color Pencils, Photo Corner Punch
HERE'S WHAT I DID:
Using the Dear Friend flowers I stamped them in Basic Black to either side of the Whisper White 7" x 2-1/4" strip of card stock. In the middle I stamped in Basic Black the wheelbarrow from Bloomin' with Love and added flowers inside of it With Watercolor Pencils I colored everything in. then I ripped some Chocolate Chip and Certainly Celery DSP to resemble dirt and grass and adhered it to the bottom. I placed a brad on the wheel of the wheelbarrow. I punched out four sets of the Photo Corners in So Saffron so all the corners were the same size. Then I assembled all the pieces as shown, colored in the sky and stamped the flower pot on, May 10, "Mother's Day."
