Hello, Lakeside Stampers!
I hope your Labor Day Weekend was spent with family and friends. On the east coast here our weather was perfect! While I hear Hurricane Earl affected the surf at the local beaches, here in Mohegan Lake it was sunny and breezy. Sitting on our back deck at night has been my favorite time with temperatures cool and summer sounds of kady-dids, crickets and frogs still heard. I feel very lucky.

This is another project we made at my "FAN-tastic" Class. It was another technique to show the class how to use any stamp in a silhouette way. In the future I will be offering a silhouette class.
I think this plaque idea would make a great gift for anyone depending on the stamp set used. Here's how to make her:
On a piece of Blushing Bride Card Stock using Soft Suede Ink I stamped the. lady image from the Stampin' Up! Dream Gardens Stamp Set. I then cut her out, paying particular attention to her face profile. You don't need to cut her whole kneeling body, but you need to cut her out in way that gives her a waist.
On a piece of Baja Breeze Designer Series Paper I inked on the backside of the pattern I wanted to use for her blouse. I carefully cut ot a blouse shape with her sleeve. This is a sample of how I sketched over the stamped image the area I wanted to cut for her blouse. Click on the image to enlarge it if you need to.
I repeated stamping her in Regal Rose Ink on Whisper White Card Stock and cut out her fan, since this is a "Fan-tastic" Class. For the fan I didn't stamp on the back I used the front stamped image since it was the color I wanted.
For her skirt I simply made a bell shaped skirt making sure to line up her waist. You'll need to trim away as you line things up. For the bottom of her skirt I used the Pinking Hearts Border Punch and punched out a strip from Whisper White Card Stock. To curve the stripe I simply cut in between the pinking points taking care not to cut to the top but close to the top. This allows you to form a curve with your border.
I followed the silhouette procedure for her hair. I stamped on Soft Suede Card Stock using Basic Black Ink, cut it out and adhered it with my Tombow Glue.
At a local craft store I purchased wooden oval plaques and pre-painted them for the class. I computer generated an oval, cut it out and glued it to a cardboard scrap. On So Saffron Card Stock I traced my oval template and carefully cut it out. Along the edge of the oval I sponged So Saffron Ink with a Dauber.
For the scalloped oval I used my Big Shot with the Oval Frame DIe with Not Quite Navy Card Stock. I layered everything as follows adding some of Stampin' Up! Basic Pearls to the scallop edge and the tiniest pearl as an earring. Before I added pearls with my Piercing Tool and Mat Pack I pierced each scallop to resemble lace. To her waist I made a waistband and bow from Daffodil Delight 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon. On the top of the plaque I made a bow from Daffodil Delight 1/4" Grosgrain Ribbon. On the back I put a small metal hanger found at a local hardware store.
