We all know the holidays are approaching. Every year it seems like we have plenty of time and then Christmas and Hanukkah sneak up on us. Here's an early Christmas project that can be used for Hanukkah as well, by simply changing up the color scheme. These are perfect for gift cards, jewelry or treats. You can even make one for your pet!
This Victorian Stocking was made using the Big Shot and the new Holiday Stocking Die in the Holiday Mini Catalog. Cut the following:
x2 Cherry Cobbler Stockings
x2 Very Vanilla Stocking tops
x1 Holly Berry Deaigner Series Paper toe part
x1 Garden Green Stocking top
Once the Stocking parts aer cut, you could run them through your favorite Embossing Folder. Mine is sans embossing, because I was in such a rush to finish, I forgot this step. Art shouldn't be rushed!
Because the Garden Green Stocking top has a curved edge, if you run the Scallop Edge Punch along the edge, you'll get a natural curved scallop edge as shown here.
On one piece of Very Vanilla stamp, "Merry Christmas" from the Christmas Lodge stamp set in Black Stazon Ink. Color in the "C" with a Cherry Cobbler Marker.
On the back of the Very Vanilla Stocking top adhere the Scallop Edge.
On a piece of Very Vanilla card stock, stamp the bird image from the Beautiful Season stamp set in Black stazon Ink. With an Oval Die cut out stamped image. I used my retired Coluzzle. Hand color the image to resemble a Chickadee, holly and berries with Stampin' Up! Markers or Watercolor Pencils.
Adhere all the Stocking parts, by placing Sticky Tape along all of the edges os the Stocking. Before you adhere the Very Vanilla Stocking top parts together insert a piece of Tinsel Trim, ribbon or even a pipe cleaner.
Adhere the bird ovel on the front of the Stocking and around the oval carefully squeeze out a strip of Tombow Glue. Wrap a piece of Tinsel Trim or even a pipe cleaner around the oval.
Your Victorian Stocking is now complete. Switch out the images in the oval, colors and Designer Series Paper for different looks. On the top of the Stocking cut out letters with the Big Shot and personalized them for family and friends.
