Bird in a Tiny Frame...

This is the last project we made at Friday's class. I tried for a more vintage look on this small framed bird wall hanging. It's a simple fun process and no two came out the same in the class.

After measuring the frame's opening and adding 1/4" on all four sides, I cut a 2-1/2' x 3-1/2" piece of Bella Bleu Designer Series Paper and proceeded to stamp it with motifs from the Friends 24-7, Rustic Rooster and Priceless Stamp Sets in Baja Breeze and Basic Black Ink. I stamped randomly until I felt the look of the layered images was acceptable without being too busy or over powering. 

I then stamped the bird from Friends 24-7 Stamp Set in Soft Suede, on Very Vanilla Card Stock, colored in the bird and cut the stamped image out. I adhered the bird with dimensionals so it would pop out of the opening.

Here is a close-up of the result. 

Once the stamping was done I cut another 2-1/2" x 3-1/2" piece of Soft Suede Card Stock for the backing. I placed a small plastic loop onto a piece of Baja Breeze Ribbon (retired). Then I adhered the bird image on the back of the frame so that the image showed through the opening. On the back of the image piece, I adhered the ribbon then on top of that the piece of Soft Suede Card Stock. 

I'm pleased with the result and I have my tiny framed bird hanging in my kitchen. The moral of this story is keep your eyes open for small inexpensive frames so, you too can create one of these for your very own.
